That shapes what keepers here tend to do: a reptile's ashes often join a shelf of family keepsakes rather than a garden plot. If that's your plan, a small container that matches the others looks more settled than a separate display.

Seasons, brumation and timing in Lakeland

Leases, homeowners' associations and some city ordinances forbid burying animals on the property, even a small lizard. - Take your reptile home instead if you prefer to bury it in the garden or use another provider, and request a sealed container with a label.

My tortoise hasn't come out of its burrow for days. Has it died?
Not necessarily. In hot weather many tortoises shelter underground for long spells and slow right down. Check the burrow entrance gently and watch for fresh tracks or disturbed soil. If you're worried, ask a reptile vet for advice before digging, and never pull a tortoise out in the midday heat.
Can I have my reptile freeze-dried instead of cremated in Lakeland?
Yes, a few studios take reptiles, and some keepers like how well scales and markings survive.
