Burial or cremation? The view from Florida
Cremation is the everyday choice in Florida: about 72.5%[1] of people who die there are cremated. That familiarity helps reptile keepers, because local crematories are well established and nobody needs to explain wanting ashes home. The gap is experience with unusual species, so the practical step is simply to ask how often a provider sees snakes, lizards and tortoises.

Heat, cold and power cuts in Ocoee

Who to call and what to do, in order
- If you're unsure, wait and call. Don't freeze, bury or book a cremation until a vet has confirmed death, ideally with a Doppler probe.

The moment you find your pet has died, shift them into that cool air, on a towel or pet bed, and place ice packs wrapped in cloth along the spine and belly. Can a provider from a neighbouring town collect from Ocoee?

It's less common than some claims suggest. What's the difference between private and communal cremation for a reptile?

Some providers also offer partitioned cremation, where pets share a chamber but are kept apart; ask exactly how separation works, because it matters most for very small bodies.
